What is Design Thinking?
Design Thinking is a methodology used by designers to solve complex problems, and find desirable solutions for clients. A design mindset is not problem-focused, it’s solution focused and action oriented towards creating desired outcomes that benefit the end user.
It aims to address the mismatch of expectations between designers and users. It is about the people.

Re-designing gift-giving experience
To learn about the different modes that make up the whole process of design thinking, we decided to try re-designing gift-giving experience for our SI peers!
Our learning points:
1. Interview to understand about our partner. Gain empathy!
2. Identify the needs of our partner and gather personal insights.
3. Define a problem statement for our partner, from our interpretation.
4. Generate as many ideas as we can to solve the problem we identified.
5. Share the ideas with our friends to gather feedback before revising them.
6. Focus on one best idea and start making a prototype to show our partner what it is!
7. If our partner likes it, we can now put the idea to test in the future!

That's it for the brief introduction of the design thinking framework! This framework was created by Mike Youngblood whom we were very lucky to meet during the recent CAPT's Master's Tea. He is really knowledgeable and helped us greatly in framing this workshop :)
